TLDR Finasteride causes sperm production decrease in Mesocricetus auratus.
This study investigated the effect of finasteride on the spermatogenesis of adult Mesocricetus auratus. The experimental group was given finasteride for 90 days, and the results showed significant tubules atrophy and spermatogenesis reduction compared to the control group. The study highlights concerns about the use of finasteride in patients of fertile age due to its potential impact on androgen metabolism. Further investigation is needed to determine the safe dose of finasteride to be used and its administration interval.
