A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Informative Educational Approach on Knowledge Regarding Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Its Impact on Reproductive System and Preventive Strategies Among Adolescent Girls at Selected Colleges, Koppal District

    The study evaluated the effectiveness of an educational program on knowledge about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) among 110 adolescent girls in Koppal district. Using a pre-experimental design, the study found that prior to the intervention, 83.6% of participants had average knowledge and 16.3% had poor knowledge about PCOS. After the educational program, 83.6% achieved a good level of knowledge, while 16.3% had an average level. The mean knowledge score increased significantly from 9.1 to 17.6, with a mean difference of 8.5, and a significant 't' value of 44.34. Sociodemographic factors like age and dietary habits showed no significant association with pre-test knowledge, but BMI and menstrual cycle regularity were significant. The study concluded that the educational program effectively improved knowledge about PCOS and its prevention.
