TLDR PRP injections improved facial aesthetics in most women, but more research is needed.
This study assessed the effectiveness of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in the facial skin of 50 women aged 20 to 52. Results indicated that 56% of patients experienced improvement in midface volume, particularly those with lower platelet counts (≤259 × 10^9/L) and higher estradiol levels (>99 pg/mL). However, no statistically significant changes were observed in skin condition via a facial skin analyzer. Both doctors and patients noted aesthetic improvements, with 72% of patients showing improvement according to the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale. No undesirable effects were reported, but the study's limitations, including a small sample size and lack of a control group, suggest the need for larger studies to confirm these findings.
