TLDR Wasabi compound may help promote hair growth.
Six years ago, a study was conducted on the effects of 6-Methylsulfinylhexyl Isothiocyanate (6-MSITC), a compound found in wasabi, on cultured human follicle dermal papilla cells. The research found that 6-MSITC significantly stimulated cell proliferation and increased the production of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a protein that plays a key role in hair growth. This suggests that 6-MSITC could potentially be used to promote hair growth and could be beneficial for those suffering from hair loss or alopecia.

Others advise patience, suggesting that significant results often take 12 to 18 months, and recommend sticking with the current treatment longer before making changes.
