TLDR The gel with hops extract effectively treats severe acne wounds by healing and reducing infection.
The study evaluated the efficacy of a gel containing carbon dioxide extract of hops on healing infected skin wounds associated with severe acne vulgaris using 80 male WAG rats. The gel demonstrated significant benefits, including promoting the separation of horny masses from the epidermis, stimulating epidermal proliferation, cleansing wounds of necrotic tissue, and facilitating the growth and maturation of granulation tissue into connective tissue. Additionally, the gel exhibited anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, and antimycotic properties, effectively normalizing skin microbiocenosis. The findings indicated that the gel was highly effective in treating severe and very severe acne vulgaris with deep and infected wound defects.
