Comparative Efficacy of Janus Kinase Inhibitors in Severe Alopecia Areata: A Network Meta-Analysis Based on Randomized Controlled Trials

This study conducted a network meta-analysis to compare the efficacy of different Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors in treating severe alopecia areata (AA), involving 3,866 patients across various trials. The analysis found that deuruxolitinib at 12 mg showed the best efficacy, although with wider confidence intervals, while baricitinib at 4 mg demonstrated significant efficacy with high precision (OR: 2.59, 95% CI: 1.98-3.38). The study confirms the effectiveness of JAK inhibitors in treating severe AA and highlights their dose-dependent effects, providing valuable guidance for clinicians in selecting appropriate treatments. Future research is encouraged to further compare JAK inhibitors to strengthen treatment regimens for AA.
