Therapeutic Efficacy of Liquid Nitrogen Cryotherapy for Treatment of Alopecia Areata

    TLDR Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy is an effective treatment for alopecia areata.
    The study evaluated liquid nitrogen cryotherapy for alopecia areata in 95 patients aged 16-70, with weekly treatments for 6 weeks and follow-ups at 3 and 6 months. Significant hair regrowth (over 50% reduction in SALT score) was observed in 27.4% of patients. No significant links were found between treatment success and age, gender, or disease duration. The study concluded that liquid nitrogen cryotherapy is a simple, convenient, and effective treatment for alopecia areata.
