Efficacy of Autogenic, Allogenic, and Heterogenic Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) on Avulsion Skin Wounds in Rabbit Model

    TLDR Autogenic and allogenic PRP effectively promote wound healing.
    The study investigated the effects of autogenic, allogenic, and heterogenic platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on wound healing in a rabbit model. Six rabbits were used, with wounds treated in four groups: control, autogenic, allogenic, and heterogenic PRP. Results showed that by day 15, wounds treated with autogenic and allogenic PRP exhibited better contraction than controls, with complete closure by day 21. Histopathological analysis revealed scab formation in the autogenic and allogenic groups after one week, with complete epidermis regeneration and new hair follicles by the third week. The study concludes that autogenic and allogenic PRP therapies are effective, affordable options for promoting wound repair.
