TLDR Proper nutrition and hygiene are crucial to prevent infections in dogs.
This case report describes a 4-month-old domestic dog suffering from emaciation due to dual infections of Malasseziosis and Ehrlichiosis. The dog exhibited a body condition score of 3/9, alopecia, dermatological lesions, and anemia. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of Malassezia spp. and Ehrlichia canis. Treatment included dietary changes, medicated baths, antiparasitic and antibiotic therapies, and supportive care. After 28 days, the dog showed significant weight gain, improved skin condition, and normalized blood results. The study highlights the importance of proper nutrition and hygiene to prevent recurrence of such infections.
