This study examined the sensitization spectrum and atopic disease structure in 162 patients with alopecia areata and atopic conditions. It found that alopecia areata is often comorbid with atopic diseases, particularly in children, where severe alopecia and combined atopic diseases are more prevalent. Seasonal pollen sensitization was common among alopecia areata patients, but the overall sensitization spectrum did not differ significantly from those without alopecia. The findings highlight the importance of early phenotyping of alopecia areata patients with allergic predispositions to better manage and treat the condition.
