Fecal Microbiota and Metabolites Predict Metabolic Health Features Across Various Dietary Patterns

    This study explored the relationship between gut microbiota, metabolites, and metabolic health across different dietary patterns in 118 adults. It found that the DASH diet was the strongest predictor of blood pressure, with specific bacteria like Eubacterium eligens and E. xylanophilum improving model predictions. The inclusion of deoxycholic acid further enhanced these predictions. The MIND diet was linked to triglyceride levels, with E. eligens and metabolites like isobutyrate and isovalerate improving model accuracy. The findings suggest that specific gut bacteria and metabolites may mediate the effects of dietary patterns on metabolic health.
