TLDR The fermented soybean-lactobacillus complex can boost hair growth and follicle formation.
The study investigates the effects of a fermented small black soybean-lactobacillus complex on hair growth and follicle gene expression in C57BL/6 mice. The complex, rich in isoflavones like genistein and daidzein, was orally administered and compared to a 3% minoxidil treatment. Results showed that the 10% fermented complex group experienced hair growth starting from week 2, with faster hair growth and more follicle formation than the minoxidil group. Gene expression analysis revealed significant increases in EGF and IGF-1 in males and HGF-1 in females at week 2. The study concludes that the fermented complex can positively influence hair growth and follicle formation, suggesting its potential as a food ingredient for hair health.
