The study investigated the effectiveness of finasteride in treating hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic skin disease. Seven patients were treated with finasteride, and six of them showed significant improvement, with three having complete healing of HS lesions. The drug was generally well tolerated, with only two women experiencing breast enlargement. The study concluded that finasteride is an effective therapeutic option in HS.
