TLDR Finasteride lowers cortisol and raises testosterone levels in rats.
The study investigated the effects of finasteride on serum cortisol and testosterone levels in female Wistar rats. Forty-five rats were divided into control and treatment groups, and hormone levels were measured using ELISA kits. Results showed that finasteride significantly reduced cortisol levels while increasing testosterone levels in a dose-dependent manner. This indicates that finasteride alters adrenal and gonadal hormones, highlighting its broader impact on endocrine regulation.
