Biocompatible and Antibacterial Flammulina Velutipes-Based Natural Hybrid Cryogel to Treat Noncompressible Hemorrhages and Skin Defects

    The study developed a novel cryogel, HFV70, using Flammulina velutipes extract and hydroxyethyl cellulose, aimed at treating noncompressible hemorrhages and skin defects. HFV70 exhibited high porosity (95%) and a water uptake ratio exceeding 2,500%, with desirable degradation and shape memory properties. It demonstrated improved cytocompatibility, hemocompatibility, and antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. aureus. In vitro, HFV70 supported cell adhesion and proliferation, and in vivo, it showed rapid hemostasis and promoted tissue regeneration in rat models. The cryogel also displayed significant antioxidant properties, with a DPPH scavenging rate of 74.55%. These findings suggested HFV70's potential for clinical applications in wound healing and tissue repair.
