Formulation And Evaluation Of Herbal Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

The study focused on formulating and evaluating a herbal anti-dandruff shampoo using natural ingredients like fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, and neem leaves, known for their antimicrobial and hair-nourishing properties. Three shampoo formulations were tested for physicochemical parameters, including appearance, pH, foamability, and cleansing action. All formulations showed acceptable physical characteristics, with pH values suitable for scalp application. The curry leaf extract shampoo demonstrated superior cleansing performance. Stability and skin irritation studies confirmed the shampoos were stable and non-irritant. The herbal ingredients effectively reduced dandruff and improved hair health, making the shampoo a safe, effective, and economical alternative to synthetic options, with potential for commercial development.
