TLDR The laser treatment effectively and safely reduces post-acne redness in adult Chinese patients.
The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a fractional 1064 nm picosecond Nd:YAG laser for treating post-acne erythema in 22 adult Chinese patients with Fitzpatrick skin types III and IV. After one treatment session, the mean Clinician Erythema Assessment Scale (CEAS) scores significantly decreased, indicating improvement. The Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) also showed positive results, and patient satisfaction was moderate. Pain scores averaged 3.27 out of 6, with moderate erythema and edema lasting about 3.84 days. Some patients experienced pruritus and acne eruptions, but no scarring or pigmentation issues were observed. The treatment was concluded to be effective and safe for this condition.
