TLDR Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia mainly affects postmenopausal women and is linked to thyroid disease, hyperlipidemia, and anemia.
Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (FFA) was identified as a primary lymphocytic cicatricial alopecia with a rising global incidence. A study conducted at "Α. Sygros" hospital in Greece over 10 years involved 300 patients to gather epidemiological data and explore potential factors influencing the disease. A specially designed questionnaire collected socio-demographic and medical data, and statistical analyses such as the Kolmogorov test, X2-test, Mann-Whitney Test, variance analysis, and multiple regression were employed to analyze the data. This study was significant as it was the first of its kind in Greece.
