TLDR Addressing body image and weight can help improve female sexual dysfunction.
The study identified two distinct profiles of sexual function in women using the FSFI domains: Sexual Dysfunction and Preserved Function. Women in the Dysfunction profile exhibited lower FSFI scores, higher adiposity, and greater body-image discomfort. Although PCOS was more common in the Dysfunction profile, the difference was not statistically significant. The findings suggest that person-centered profiling can uncover clinically relevant variability beyond diagnostic categories, emphasizing the importance of addressing adiposity and body-image distress as modifiable factors in female sexual dysfunction.
