TLDR No significant genetic link to alopecia areata was found in the Jordanian group.
This study examined the genetic association of 21 candidate loci with alopecia areata (AA) susceptibility in a Jordanian cohort of 152 patients and 150 controls. Using genetic sequencing, no significant association was found between the selected SNPs and AA in this population. The findings underscore the genetic variability of AA across different ethnic groups and suggest that environmental and psychological factors may also contribute to the disease's etiology. The study highlights the complexity of AA's genetic basis and the need for further research to identify genetic factors influencing AA.
