Establishment and Validation of a Hair Fall Atlas for Chinese Men Based on Trichoscopy

The study developed and validated a hair fall atlas for Chinese men using the Fast Investigation System for Hair and Scalp (FISHS), involving 400 participants from Beijing and Shanghai. This system captures high-resolution images to assess hair loss more precisely than traditional methods. The atlas categorizes hair loss into a 7-grade scale and includes detailed descriptions of hair follicles, hairline, hair diameter, density, and vellus hair parameters. It demonstrates strong consistency and reliability among dermatologists, correlating visual assessments with image analysis. The atlas is intended for clinical and cosmetic use, aiding in diagnosing hair loss and developing anti-hair fall products, emphasizing early detection and prevention.
