TLDR Both gel and microemulsion with Waru leaves and Java Tamarind extracts effectively promote hair growth.
The study investigated the hair growth effects of gel and microemulsion formulations containing ethanol extracts of Waru leaves and Java Tamarind. Using male rabbits, the research found that both formulations promoted hair growth, with the best results observed at a 2:1 concentration ratio of Waru leaves to Java Tamarind. The gel formulation with quaternary CMC Na:Tween 80:Propilengliko = 7:15:15 and the microemulsion with Tween 80:Propilenglikol = 37:15 showed physical stability. Statistical analysis revealed no significant difference in hair growth activity between the gel and microemulsion, indicating both were equally effective.

Rosemary extract showed high inhibitory activity against DHT, similar to finasteride and dutasteride, but the conversation includes skepticism about its effectiveness in humans since the study was done on mice and rosemary oil is often considered ineffective based on personal experiences. Some suggest trying rosemary oil alongside other treatments, while others emphasize the difference between the extract used in the study and the oil.

Rotenone, a natural plant extract, may promote hair growth by increasing LDH activity and blocking MPC in the scalp, but it carries risks due to its toxicity. The suggested formulation includes Barbasco extract, DMSO, propylene glycol or PEG-400, ethanol, and a carrier oil.

community 2023 study: Novel Hemp extract causes great hair (allegedly better than fin/min) growth with little to no side effects. Photos included… Thoughts?

A novel hemp extract allegedly promotes better hair growth than minoxidil and finasteride, with minimal side effects, but the study's credibility is questioned due to potential bias and confounding factors like peppermint oil. Users express skepticism and suggest sticking with proven treatments like minoxidil and finasteride.
