TLDR Muridae species have unique hair patterns specific to each genus and species.
The study examined the hair patterns of five species within the Muridae family—Rattus rattus, Rattus rufescence, Mus musculus, Tatera indica, and Bandicota bengalensis—in the Amravati District, Maharashtra. It aimed to provide insights into the structure of hair in these species. Hair in mammals primarily serves as insulation, with its color determined by melanin levels. The study highlights that the Muridae family's hair patterns are unique to their respective genera and species, contributing valuable information to the understanding of mammalian hair structure.
