    The study conducted by Zimber MP et al., published in 2011, explored a new understanding of the pathogenesis of androgenic alopecia (AGA) and a potential treatment method. Previously, AGA was believed to evolve from multiple gene involvement and androgen-mediated processes, with anti-androgens like finasteride used to reverse the process. However, this study examined the role of Wnt proteins and growth factors in stimulating hair growth. A single intradermal injection containing Wnt proteins and wound growth factors was administered to 26 subjects. After 12 weeks, a significant increase in hair shaft thickness and diversity was observed compared to a placebo, with no adverse events reported. The method for determining the optimal concentration of growth factors used in the study was not explained.
