Formulation and Evaluation of Herbal Hair Dye

The study explores the formulation and evaluation of an herbal hair dye using Eclipta alba, known as Bhringraj, as the primary active ingredient. This herbal dye aims to provide a safer, natural alternative to synthetic dyes, which often contain harmful chemicals like ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. The formulation, which includes other natural ingredients for coloring and conditioning, was assessed for various parameters such as color, texture, pH, and stability. Results indicated that the herbal dye offered satisfactory coloring effects, good consistency, and was non-irritating, making it suitable for topical application. The study concludes that Eclipta alba has significant potential in herbal hair dye formulations, aligning with the trend towards safer, eco-friendly cosmetic products.
