HERBAL MEHENDI GEL FORMULATION FOR SUSTAINABLE HAIR COLOURING AND SCALP CARE

The study focused on creating and evaluating a herbal mehendi gel for sustainable hair coloring and scalp care, using natural ingredients like henna, amla, bhringraj, aloe vera, and neem. The gel was formulated with a base of Carbopol 940, glycerine, propylene glycol, triethanolamine, and methyl paraben. It aimed to provide natural hair coloring while nourishing and protecting the scalp and hair follicles. The gel showed good consistency, smooth texture, satisfactory spreadability, easy washability, and a suitable pH for scalp application. No skin irritation was observed, indicating its safety. The herbal ingredients offered benefits such as natural coloring, scalp conditioning, antimicrobial activity, antioxidant action, and hair strengthening properties.
