TLDR Oleanolic acid in spearmint may help manage PCOS symptoms.
This study investigates the potential of phytochemicals in Mentha spicata (spearmint) for managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) through molecular docking analysis. The research focused on key proteins associated with PCOS, such as the androgen receptor and insulin receptor. The findings highlighted oleanolic acid as having the best binding affinity across all five target proteins, suggesting its potential role in reducing PCOS effects. However, these results are computational, and further in vitro and in vivo studies are necessary to confirm these findings.
