TLDR Interferon therapy improves quality of life for chronic hepatitis B patients.
A study involving 287 chronic hepatitis B patients compared the quality of life among those receiving interferon therapy, nucleoside/nucleotide analogues, and non-antiviral treatment. Despite potential side effects and costs, interferon therapy was associated with a higher quality of life compared to the other treatments (p < 0.05). Factors such as resilience, presenteeism, hair loss, and antiviral treatment influenced quality of life (p < 0.05). The findings suggest that interferon therapy does not negatively impact daily life and work for CHB patients.
