TLDR No significant genetic link to alopecia areata was found in the Jordanian group.
This study investigated the genetic association of 21 candidate loci with alopecia areata (AA) susceptibility in a Jordanian cohort, involving 152 patients and 150 controls. Despite analyzing these loci using the Sequenom MassARRAY® system, the study found no significant genetic association with AA in this population. The findings highlight the genetic variability of AA across different ethnic groups and suggest that environmental and psychological factors may also play a role in the disease's etiology.
