A Review on the Use and Effectiveness of JAK Inhibitors in the Management of Lichen Planopilaris

Lichen planopilaris (LPP) is a form of primary cicatricial alopecia that leads to severe hair loss and potential baldness, significantly impacting patients' physical and mental well-being. This literature review evaluates the effectiveness of JAK inhibitors as a treatment for LPP by analyzing 10 recent studies. The findings indicate that JAK inhibitors are effective in managing LPP, but there are concerns about their long-term safety. The review identifies gaps in the current literature and emphasizes the need for further research on the long-term effectiveness and safety of JAK inhibitors in treating LPP.
