JAK INHIBITORS IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF ALOPECIA AREATA

    Recent research has highlighted the role of Janus kinases (JAKs) in the pathogenesis of alopecia areata, focusing on their involvement in hair follicle morphology and physiology. The study emphasizes the importance of the "bulge region" in hair follicles, which is crucial for cyclic hair formation. JAKs, which are cytoplasmic receptors, play a significant role in transmitting information via tyrosine kinases, leading to receptor dimerization and activation upon growth factor binding. Understanding these mechanisms is essential for developing new therapeutic approaches to restore hair growth in conditions like alopecia areata.
