    Kukui nut oil (Aleurites moluccanus seed oil) promotes hair growth by activating the Nrf2/ARE-AKR1C family-PGF2α signaling axis. The study demonstrated that AMS oil significantly enhances hair growth by elevating PGF2α levels and increasing the expression of AKR1C family enzymes, which are crucial for PGF2α synthesis. It also upregulates proliferation markers such as Ki67 and cyclins B1, D1, and E1. Transcriptional analysis showed that AMS oil activates Nrf2 signaling, leading to gene regulation via antioxidant response elements. A randomized, double-blind, left-right comparison human test confirmed its efficacy in promoting eyelash growth, suggesting potential applications in hair and eyelash growth and health improvement through antioxidant effects.
