Stability Indicating An LC-ESI-MS/MS Method For The Quantification Of Minoxidil In Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms

    The study developed and validated a novel LC-ESI-MS/MS method for quantifying Minoxidil in pharmaceutical forms, ensuring specificity, accuracy, and robustness. The method demonstrated excellent linearity (R² = 0.9999), precision (RSD < 2%), and accuracy (recovery 99.25%–99.81%). The LOD and LOQ were 0.0621 µg/ml and 0.1853 µg/ml, respectively. Minoxidil was stable under thermal conditions but degraded under acidic, basic, and oxidative conditions. The method was successfully applied to Minoxidil tablets and topical solutions, with recoveries of 98.64%–99.58%. This method is suitable for routine analysis without interference from excipients or degradants.
