The study developed a biodegradable nanofibrous biofilm designed to enhance skin regeneration by improving cell affinity and neovascularization. This biofilm incorporated leucine-doped LAPONITE® nanodisks, which are rich in magnesium and silicon, to promote fibroblast proliferation and vascularization. The biofilm was created by hybridizing these nanohybrids with a polylactide mesh, followed by ammonia plasma treatment to increase hydrophilicity. The resulting biofilm structure supported cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation, leading to effective wound healing with blood vessel and hair follicle regeneration, due to its improved hydrophilicity and sustained leucine release.
