The study investigates the role of LncRNA RP11-818O24.3 in hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs), revealing that its overexpression promotes proliferation, inhibits apoptosis, and enhances differentiation into keratinocyte and neural stem cells. This is achieved through increased expression of fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) and activation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. These findings suggest that LncRNA RP11-818O24.3 could be a potential therapeutic target for hair loss treatments by enhancing HFSC self-renewal and differentiation capabilities.
