This cross-sectional study conducted in Lahore, Pakistan, surveyed 610 young adults to assess the prevalence and risk factors of premature graying of hair before age 30. The study found a prevalence of 55.2% for premature graying, with 62.5% of affected individuals reporting a family history of the condition. Other common factors among those with premature graying included vitamin or mineral deficiencies (58.2%), hair loss (58.2%), oily scalp (55.9%), anxiety (52.0%), smoking (51.5%), and an unhealthy diet (50.8%). The study highlights the need for further multivariable analysis to identify independent predictors of premature graying.
