TLDR The M5 method is best for isolating cells that help hair growth.
This study evaluated five isolation methods for human dermal papilla cells (hDPCs) to improve their clinical application in hair regeneration. The M5 method outperformed others by achieving high attachment efficiency, reduced processing time, and enhanced proliferative capacity while maintaining key hair-inductive markers and activating important signaling pathways. M5-derived hDPCs effectively induced hair growth in vivo, showing physiological responsiveness similar to treatments with minoxidil and dihydrotestosterone. The M5 method offers a robust platform for scalable hDPC isolation, preserving their biological potency for regenerative applications in alopecia.
