Manual needling with phenolization – an efficacious therapy for lip vitiligo: A case series

A study involving 20 patients with lip vitiligo tested the efficacy of combining manual needling with 88% phenol application. Results showed that 16 patients achieved near-complete repigmentation within 3-4 months. Overall, 65% of patients experienced more than 75% repigmentation, 15% had 50-75% pigmentation, 10% had 25-50% pigmentation, and 5% showed no pigmentation. This suggests that the combination of microneedling and phenol application is an effective treatment for lip vitiligo.
