    Martynia annua, an herbaceous plant from the Martyniaceae family, was reviewed for its ethnobotany, phytochemistry, and pharmacology. Native to Mexico, it exhibited numerous medicinal properties, including anti-alopecia, anticancer, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory activities, among others. The review highlighted the presence of phytoconstituents such as anthraquinones, terpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, and phenolic compounds, particularly in the leaves, which contributed to its pharmacological effects. The review concluded that M. annua held significant potential for future pharmacological research.
