TLDR 0.5% minoxidil mesotherapy is more effective and safe for hair growth in women with androgenetic alopecia than topical 2% minoxidil.
This randomized controlled trial compared the efficacy and safety of mesodermal injection of 0.5% minoxidil with topical 2% minoxidil in 40 female patients with androgenetic alopecia. Over 16 weeks, the experimental group receiving mesotherapy showed significantly greater improvements in hair density, hair coverage, and hairline height reduction compared to the control group using topical minoxidil. Physician assessments favored the mesotherapy group, although patient self-assessments did not show a significant difference. No serious adverse events were reported. The study concludes that 0.5% minoxidil mesotherapy is a more effective and safe treatment option for promoting hair growth and improving hair quality in FAGA patients.
