TLDR Micro-grafts improved hair growth in patients with hair loss.
The study explored the use of autologous micro-grafts, specifically the Rigenera® protocol, as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA), a condition affecting 60-70% of adults worldwide. The Rigenera® protocol, previously effective in wound care and tissue regeneration, was tested on three patients to assess its long-term efficacy in promoting hair growth. Histological evaluations conducted 6 and 9 months post-application showed an increase in hair follicles, beginning of cuticle formation, and proliferation of dermal papilla. By 9 months, there was a well-organized derma with structured collagen fibers and hair follicles in the Anagen IV/Mesanagen phase. The study concluded that micro-grafts improved hair restoration, with positive subjective assessments from patients.
