TLDR Microneedles offer a promising, painless way to treat skin diseases but need improvements for better use.
Microneedles (MNs) have emerged as an effective transdermal drug delivery method for treating various skin diseases, including alopecia, by overcoming the limitations of conventional methods through precise and painless delivery. They are increasingly used to enhance the treatment efficiency of insoluble drugs and bioactive substances. Despite their potential, challenges such as low drug loading and poor mechanical strength during preparation limit their clinical application, presenting opportunities for future research to optimize MNs-based therapies.
