TLDR Minoxidil helps heart function but doesn't improve exercise ability and may cause complications.
The study investigated the effects of minoxidil on patients with chronic left heart failure. While minoxidil improved hemodynamics and left ventricular function, it did not improve exercise capacity or symptomatic status. In fact, clinical complications were increased during minoxidil treatment. The study concluded that minoxidil should not be a primary vasodilator for treating patients with chronic left ventricular failure.
