Preparation and Characterization of Minoxidil Loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carriers

This document describes the development of a nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) for the topical delivery of minoxidil (MXD) to treat hair loss. The NLCs were composed of stearic acid, oleic acid, and surfactants, and showed better stability and retention in the skin than solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs). The study suggests that NLCs are a promising drug delivery system for MXD and could improve patient acceptance and tolerability for the topical delivery of MXD.
