Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising for wound healing due to their tunable porous structures, large surface area, and functionalization capabilities, which make them ideal for drug delivery. They can load various therapeutic agents, allowing for controlled and targeted release. MOFs can also be combined with other materials to form multifunctional wound dressings. This review discusses the mechanisms, advantages, and recent research progress of MOF-based composite materials in wound treatment.
