The study evaluated the safety and efficacy of Mesenchymal Stem Cell derived Conditioned Media (MSC-CM) formulations for managing oral mucositis (OM) induced by chemotherapy and radiation. In preclinical models, MSC-CM formulations (5%, 10%, and 15%) showed no adverse effects and demonstrated dose-dependent benefits, including reduced ulcer size, improved mucosal regeneration, and enhanced hematological and immunological parameters. The 15% formulation was most effective, achieving 100% survival and significant mucosal recovery. In radiation wound models, 10% and 15% formulations reduced symptoms like redness and hair loss, with the 10% formulation promoting rapid wound closure. These results suggest MSC-CM formulations are safe and effective for treating chemotherapy and radiation-induced OM, with potential for clinical application.
