It also touched on the promising yet challenging application of metal-drug-based polymeric systems in cancer therapeutics. The high biocompatibility of starch and cellulose made them valuable in biomedical and pharmaceutical fields, with a focus on developing biopolymer-based vehicles for drug, gene, and protein delivery.
