Nevus Lipomatosus Cutaneous Superficialis with Perifollicular Fibrosis

Nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis (NLCS) was a rare skin lesion characterized by mature fat tissue in the upper dermis. Two types were identified: multiple and solitary. A case of a 10-month-old girl with multiple type NLCS on her right abdomen was reported, showing a nodule and papules. Histological examination revealed lobular proliferation of fat tissue, immature hair follicle-like structures, and perifollicular fibrosis. Alterations in dermal connective tissue, such as thickened collagen bundles and increased fibroblasts and blood vessels, were observed. This was the first reported case of NLCS with perifollicular fibrosis.
