A Case of Widespread Non-Pigmented Hair Regrowth in Diffuse Alopecia Areata

Quan Q Dinh, Alvin H Chong
TLDR A woman with hair loss regrew white hair after taking prednisolone.
A 62-year-old woman with diffuse alopecia areata affecting over 50% of her scalp experienced significant hair regrowth after a 2-month course of oral prednisolone. The regrown hair was entirely non-pigmented, resulting in a completely white hair color but with normal density. This outcome was maintained for 6 months following the end of treatment.
