The study focused on developing zinc oxide and fucoidan-loaded chitosan nanofiber scaffolds using the electrospinning method for wound care and infection control in operating rooms. The Zn/Fu@Cs nanofibers demonstrated significant antibacterial properties against P. aeruginosa, B. subtilis, S. aureus, and E. coli, and promoted cell proliferation and cytocompatibility in L929 cells within 3 days. The wound scratch assay on human skin fibroblast L929 cells showed quick cell regeneration without bacterial infections. The biodegradation study confirmed the biocompatibility of the nanofibers, suggesting their potential as a multifunctional material for wound care with enhanced antibacterial properties.
